The Gift is a song for Lorraine, my beloved sister. Lorraine has struggled deeply, and this song came through me one night as a prayer of gratitude that she is still here. It’s about love, survival, and the courage to face what’s hard to talk about —suicide, mental health, and the tender, messy beauty of being human. We created this video together, Lorraine as filmmaker, me as songwriter, to offer something beautiful and healing into the world. May it be a balm for anyone who needs to know they’re not alone. The song closes with the Hebrew prayer: Elohai neshama shenatata bi, t’hora hi “My God, the soul You have placed within me is pure.” Video filmed, produced and edited by Lorraine Sovern The Gift — written by Madelyn ilana Madelyn ilana — vocals, guitar, violin Chris Rosser — bass, piano Charles Furtado — percussion Recorded at Hollow Reed Studio Engineered and mixed by Chris Rosser www.madelynilana.com

This is the live album release concert for Seeker, recorded at the AyurPrana Listening Room in Asheville, North Carolina on November 21, 2026. I performed through the full album and shared stories behind the songs—the writing process, the intentions behind each piece, and the emotional landscape they came from. The evening moved through cathartic, deeply personal, and healing spaces, while also holding moments of uplift, rhythm, and joy. It was a really special night of music, presence, and community. This concert blends indie folk, dream folk, singer-songwriter storytelling, and live acoustic performance, rooted in Asheville’s creative music scene and intimate listening room culture. 0:00 - Opening Greetings 01:13 - Headwaters 08:15 - Seeker 14:35 - The Alchemist 22:17 - The Gift 28:36 - Rivers of Life 34:40 Doin' My Work 40:05 - Driftwood 48:39 - Solid Gold 55:48 - Clinging Fire 59:02 - A Compass, A Lantern 1:05:00 - Kiss From a Rose by Seal 1:11:07 - Open My Eyes Nigun I was joined by an incredible group of musicians: Chris Rosser (bass, acoustic guitar) Jahidi (percussion) Charles Furtado (percussion) Eylem Basaldi (violin) Lillie Syracuse (keys, vocal harmonies) Paloma Devi (special guest vocalist) Credits: Video filming & editing: Kimathi Moore Audio recording: Michael Basso Audio mixing: Chris Rosser Grateful for everyone who came, listened, and shared in this experience. "The Alchemist" from Madelyn's upcoming album "Seeker" www.madelynilana.com Video by Sapsucker Productions Lyrics: If not for you I'd leave this town think I'd go back to my family down South but I like myself when you're around do you like yourself when I'm around? I hear these mountains will put you to the test better make your offering become an initiate just trying to clarify my mind remind me how to breathe but I keep running around in circles God help me, please And I'm a holy mess I see no consquence you said "keep your head up, child you are The Alchemist" but I can't shake this pain in the center of my chest just trying to hold on to the center but I'm riding on the edge Just a Sunday afternoon walking around the pond with you and all I want to do is stop and watch the Poppies bloom...
